Republic Services and the West Contra Costa Sanitary Landfill (WCCSL) a proud member of the community since 1953 invite you to celebrate the April 30th Grand Opening of the newest section of the San Francisco Bay Trail called the West County Landfill Loop.

The trail is the first of its kind allowing the public access to the scenic boundaries of the landfill along our beautiful San Francisco Bay. The Landfill Loop Trail offers an opportunity to learn about the closed landfill and the variety of recycling operations taking place today. The West County Landfill Loop offers spectacular vistas with Mount Tamalpais rising above the bay behind Point San Pablo, as well as views of rich tidal marshes. The Landfill Loop features an abundance of wild life. The completion of this portion of the trail will allow visitors the ability to enjoy of one longest and continuous portions of the San Francisco Bay Trail.

Please join Republic Services and the WCCSL as we open the entire loop of the trail for the first time. There will be refreshments and tours guided by members of the local Audubon Society and TRAC to commemorate this historic milestone.

You may wish to download the Richmond Bay Trail map to help find your way to the Landfill Loop. You also may wish to download the elegant new Wildcat Marsh & Landfill Loop Trail Guide, which will be available during the April 30 celebration.
